The School
La Petite Ecole has been created to provide a high-quality childcare service that encourages the development of children’s French language ability in an active environment. The children will be offered an opportunity to learn a new language from a young age that greatly encourages their aptitude to embrace and internalize this language as they grow. La Petite Ecole offers a program enriched by French through daily activities as conversations, stories, songs, and crafts. Most importantly La Petite Ecole will give children a home where they can have a lot of fun while learning the French language. They may not even realize how much they are learning because they will be so busy playing, singing, reading, experimenting, cooking, baking and making friends.
Our Teachers
Here is what our staff members have to say about themselves:
Salima
My name is Salima. I am married and a mother of 11 years old twins; a daughter and a son. Being trilingual I understand the importance for children to be exposed to more than one language as early as possible to develop their ability to speak multiple languages. I experienced this first hand with my kids, who both speak French and English. Ikram and I wanted to share our experience with you and provide our community’s children the opportunity to learn multiple languages by opening a bilingual daycare and preschool. I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, and I have worked in a French American Preschool for three years.
Ikram
Bonjour!!! I'm originally from Morocco, I came to the United States mid-2003. I have earned an AAS degree in accounting in summer 2006 and I’m currently in track to obtain a bachelor degree in Business Administration from City University this summer. I’m currently married, and my husband and I were blessed last summer with an adorable little princess “Maha”. Maha has taught me the importance of being patient with kids, how critical it is to always pay attention to what they do and how rewarding it is to open their eyes to new things they have never experimented. I have always enjoyed being around kids of all ages, they make me laugh and I seem to have a similar effect on them.

Activities are an important part of our child care program. They are monthly scheduled to meet the needs of the children. Games and crafts are designed to be within the abilities of the child, yet challenge his/her creative talent and imagination. Throughout the day, we strive to provide a variety of activities for the children such as story time, arts and crafts, cooking projects, puzzles, free play, outdoor play, large muscle activities and quiet time. Most of these activities are provided In French. Parents will be regularly informed of the program’s activities through daily reports, special events will be listed in the calendar, in the newsletter, that we will intend to do, as well as posted. A written report about each child’s day will be found in his / her folder or will be given directly to the parents. The report will include activities done by the child during the day, as well as diaper changes, bottles, and any other additional comments we feel are important for the parent to know.
